Quick post-jam set of updates


We've pushed up a QOL patch addressing several things that just didn't make the deadline for the game jam.  We've tightened up the controls for player movement and (I hope) added full support for controllers.  We've embellished a few things in the endings, and added in the looping-world curvature effect. This effect was one of the first things we added, but we launched without it because it was honestly pretty motion sickness inducing.  We've included a toggle in the settings to turn the curvature effect off or on as you like.

(This was actually ready to upload the moment voting ended, but I was traveling at the time and had a heck of a time getting back home!)

  • ESC lets you leave the campfire early
  • ESC ends your loop (but doesn't advance the cycle)
  • Tap vs. hold jumps vary in height
  • Player has  high friction with no inputs and zero friction with movement input (goodbye slippery fox and crunchy landings!)
  • Winged/Griffox physics updates for above: Griffox has a very slow fall, winged has more jump energy but less slow fall 
  • Locked Camera Y, enabled world curvature shader
  • Adding settings option to toggle the curvature effect on/off 
  • Tweaked the -2 forests with too much collision geometry above the camera limit
  • Credits and settings buttons grab focus for better controller support
  • Full controller support (jam version doesn't support rebinding and doesn't have a ui_accept for dialogs)
  • Fixed the missing pixel-sized line in parallax background 
  • New campfire scene animations, sound adjustments and some choices directly affect the campfire scene
  • Fixed fade-in effect after hitting Start Game
  • Added basic death animation/sfx
